Straka enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Royals in 2025. 

2024 saw the Royals capture a second consecutive Landmark Conference title with a decisive 17-6 victory over Elizabethtown in the Landmark title game and the program's first NCAA Tournament victory with a 10-9 overtime win against John Carroll. Both senior attacker Matthew McAree and graduate student defender Colin Pierce garnered USILA All-American honors. 

Straka joins the Royals fresh off a playing career at Ferrum College where he appeared in 34 career games for the Panthers, recording nine points on seven goals and two assists.

In the classroom, the Bridgewater, N.J., native was a two-time Dean's List honoree and a member of the 2023 ODAC All-Academic Team.

Straka earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ferrum in May of 2023.
