Eric Bologa was named the head men's & women's track & field coach at The University of Scranton on July 23, 2021.

Bologa (buh-LOW-guh) joined the Royals from Dickinson College in Carlisle, where he has served as an assistant in the Devils' men's and women's track & field and cross country programs since 2018.

At Dickinson, Bologa worked with sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, throwers, and multi-events , along with the cross country runners, while assisting in all aspects of the program. Under Bologa's tutelage, Dickinson produced two Centennial Conference Rookies of the Year, 28 All-Centennial performers, and three All-Region athletes.

Bologa's first coaching stop came at Frostburg State, where he was an assistant for the Bobcat track & field and cross country programs from 2016 to 2018. At Frostburg, Bologa assisted in the coaching of sprints, hurdles, relays, distance, and horizontal jumping events, along with cross country runners.

In his time at Frostburg, the Bobcats produced five Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Athlete of the Year selections, six CAC individual champions, and three NCAA Division III Women's Championships qualifiers in the 60, 100, and 200-meter dashes.

Bologa joined the coaching ranks off a successful career as a student-athlete at Shippensburg University from 2011 through 2015.

The 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, Bologa was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American honoree in two events - the 400-hurdles (twice) and the outdoor 4x400 relay.

A holder of five Shippensburg school records, Bologa was also honored for his work in the classroom throughout his career, earning USTFCCCA Academic All-American honors twice and Shippensburg's Lewis J. Ort Health, Physical Education and Recreation Graduate Scholarship in 2015.

Bologa earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Shippensburg in 2015 in sociology with a minor in communication/journalism and his Masters of Education in Counseling from Frostburg State in 2017.
