Biography

  • Has excelled on defense in her first three seasons, earning All-Region and All-Conference honors all three seasons as well as All-American honors as a junior
  • Earned CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors as a junior
  • Has started 52 of the 53 games in which she has played in during her career at Scranton
  • Has totaled 179 ground balls, 160 draw controls, and 89 caused turnovers
  • Led team in ground balls in each of her first three seasons
  • Ranks fourth in program history in draw controls, tied for fourth in caused turnovers and fifth in ground balls 

Junior Year (2019)

  • Led team with 74 ground balls and 79 draw controls, added three assists and 41 caused turnovers
  • Ranked fourth in program history in single season draw controls and tied for fifth in ground balls
  • Registered an assist, five ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers in season-opening win versus Messiah on February 16
  • Totaled five ground balls, four draw controls and five caused turnovers in victory over Marywood on March 20
  • Recorded a career-high eight draw controls in 16-2 win versus Susquehanna on March 23
  • Picked up a season-high seven ground balls in 11-10 win at Rowan on April 2

Sophomore Year (2018)

  • Helped Royals post a 10.16 goals against average for the season
  • Also scored one goal, netting first collegiate marker in an 18-9 victory over Cabrini on April 24 at Fitzpatrick Field
  • Ranked 11th in program history for caused turnovers in a season, tied for 12th for draw controls in a season, and tied for 16th for ground balls in a season
  • Tied for the fifth most caused turnovers in a game in progam history with a career-high six in a 16-14 loss at Haverford on March 4
  • Totaled a carer-high seven draw controls in a 16-9 win at Susquehanna on April 21 to tied for the 21st most in a single game in Scranton history
  • Scooped up six ground balls against Haverford on March 4 and at Moravian on April 7

Freshman Year (2017)

  • Led team with 51 groundballs on season while also contributing 36 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers
  • Also dished out two assists, both off which came in a win over Lebanon Valley on March 5 at Fitzpatrick Field
  • Had a season-high seven groundballs in a victory over Marywood on March 23 at Fitzpatrick Field
  • Collected a season-best five draw controls in a win over Elizabethtown in the Landmark Conference semifinals on May 3
  • Had three caused turnovers against Shenandoah (February 26) and Drew (April 19)

  • Is also a member of the women's soccer team
  • Earned eight varsity letters at South Windsor - four each in girls lacrosse and girls soccer
  • Was all-state as a senior, all-conference as a junior and senior, a Super Juniors participant in 2015 and a Lower New England nominee in 2014
  • Had an impressive 122 draw controls in her senior season
  • Was named academic all-American in lacrosse
  • Also earned all-academic honors in both soccer and lacrosse
  • In soccer, was chosen all-state as a junior and senior
  • Was also all-conference as a sophomore, junior and senior, all-Courant Team as a junior and senior, and all-area as a senior
  • Daughter of Anthony and Evelyn Russo
  • Has two sisters, Samantha and Victoria. Samantha was on the women's swimming & diving team at the University of Vermont, and Victoria is a member of the women's lacrosse team at Assumption College
