Biography
- Holds program records in the 100 free (51.80), 200 free (1:56.41), 100 back (57.86), 200 back (2:05.20), 100 breaststroke (1:04.51) and 200 IM (2:04.01)
- 2020 NCAA Championships qualifier in the 200-IM
Graduate Student Year (2021-22)
- Earned Landmark Swimmer of the Year honors for the third time in her career after capturing conference titles in the 100 Free, 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM
- Broke a Landmark record and a championship meet record in the 100 Free with a time of 51.80 seconds
- Helped lead three of the Royals' relay teams to second place finishes and All-Landmark Second Team honors in the 200 medley, 400 free and 800 free relays
- The 800 Free Relay team broke a program record that had stood since 2003 with a time of 7:50.56
- Swam in all 11 meets on the season for the Royals
- Posted an impressive 23 individual event victories in dual meets on the season as the Royals posted a 9-1 record in dual meets
Senior Year (2020-21)
- Captured Landmark Swimmer of the Year honors after winning the 100 Breaststroke, 200 IM and 200 Backstroke at the Landmark Conference Virtual Championships (Feb. 26-27)
- Also helped lead the Royals' 400 free relay team to a Landmark title
Junior Year (2019-20)
- Became the program's first CSCAA All-American in almost 20 years, earning Second Team accolades in the 200-IM
- Captured two Landmark Conference individual titles (200-IM and 200-backstroke) and helped three relay teams capture Landmark titles (200-freestyle relay, 200-medley relay, 400-medley relay)
- Also placed second in the 100-backstroke to earn All-Landmark Second Team accolades in that event; helped 400-medley relay team achieve same honor in event
- Made history in the 200-IM, as her mark of 2:04.01 broke school and Landmark Conference records; the mark was also an NCAA "B" cut, earning Byrne a spot in the NCAA Championships
- Broke school records in five combined events on the weekend at the Landmark Conference Championships (200-medley relay, 100-backstroke, 200-backstroke, 200-IM, 200-freestyle relay)
- Shattered the Landmark Conference overall and Championship record in the 200-IM (2:04.41); also broke 200-backstroke Championship record on the weekend (2:05.20)
- Competed in 12 total events on the year for the Royals
- Swept three events at the Diamond City Invitational (Nov. 23-24), winning the 50-free, 100-free and 200-free; also won the 200-backstroke at the Ranger Invitational (Dec. 6-7) with a time of 2:06.16
- Named the Landmark Conference Female Swimmer of the Week on five different occasions throughout the season
Sophomore Year (2018-19)
- Won three individual titles at the Landmark Conference Championships, finishing first in the 100 breaststroke (1:04:51), 200 IM (2:06:41), and 200 backstroke (2:06:70)
- Had a NCAA "B" Cut time in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM at the conference championship meet
- Named Landmark Conference Female Swimmer of the Year
- Earned First Team All-Conference honors in three events
- Broke Scranton school records in the 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 IM
- Competed in 13 meets during the season
- Named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week three times and University of Scranton Athlete of the week honors once
Freshman Year (2017-18)
- Was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year after earning First Team All-Conference honors in three individual events
- Won three individual titles at the Landmark Conference Championships, finishing first in the 100 backstroke (58:35), 100 breaststroke (1:04.71), and 200 IM (2:07.17)
- Had an NCAA "B" Cut time in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.71) at the conference championship meet
- Set conference championship and overall conference records in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM
- Broke Scranton school records in the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, and 200 IM
- Competed in 10 meets during the season
- Won 22 of the 24 events she competed in during the season while finishing as the runner-up in the other two races
- Twice named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week and also picked up University of Scranton Athlete of the Week honors once
