Men's Soccer Suffers 4-0 Defeat At Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Scranton men's soccer team fell into a two-goal deficit in the opening 16 minutes and could not recover, dropping a 4-0 decision at Catholic on Saturday afternoon.

Catholic (7-5-2, 4-1-1 Landmark) kept its hold on first-place in the conference by scoring in the 14th, 16th and 36th minutes in the first half, and adding the final goal in the 57th minute during the second half.

The Royals (9-4-1, 3-2 Landmark) managed just three shots in the match, all in the first half, while the Cardinals had eight. Catholic also held the edge in corner kicks, 5-3.

Sophomore midfielder Henry Bonilla (Fairless Hills, Pa./The Pennington School) was the lone Scranton player with multiple shots, finishing with two.

Scranton returns to action when it travels to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on Moravian on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
