Field Hockey Falls at Vassar in Final Non-Conference Match, 3-0

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The University of Scranton field hockey team dropped their final out-of-conference match of the 2015 regular season on Thursday night at Vassar, 3-0.

With the defeat, Scranton fell to 13-3 on the year, while Vassar improved to 11-5 with the victory.

In the loss, the Royals fell behind 2-0 in the first 15 minutes of action and could not come back, eventually giving up a third goal early in the second half that put Vassar up for good.

In net, sophomore goalie Christina Black (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) kept the Royals in the match by making seven saves on the evening.

The University of Scranton field hockey team returns to action on Saturday, taking on Elizabethtown in the squads final match of the 2015 regular season. The Landmark Conference contest, which will also serve as the programs annual Senior Day, begins at 1 p.m.
