SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team (0-3) won two of the three doubles matches, but dropped a 6-3 decision to the Kutztown Golden Bears (3-2) in the fall finale on Wednesday afternoon at the Royal Courts in Scranton.
Juniors Daniella Wisniewski (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) and Taralyn Reilly (Archbald, Pa./Valley View) notched a thrilling 8-7 victory at the second doubles flight, while junior Julia Nocentino (Mantua, N.J./Kingsway Regional) and senior Lydia Grossman (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) registered an 8-5 win at the third flight.
In singles play, Wisniewski dropped a 5-7, 5-7 heartbreaker to Kutztown's Alejandra Vera at the first flight and senior Maddy Abood (Plainfield, N.J./Union Catholic) notched a 6-1, 6-4 win over Angela Moncavage at the sixth singles flight.
Scranton will begin the spring 2024 season in March.
