Junior goalie Nicole Olson (Stoughton, Mass./Ursuline Academy) of The University of Scranton women's soccer team made nine saves in two games last week and has been named Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

This marks the third career Defensive Athlete of the Week selection for Olson who won the award twice during the 2022 campaign.

The Stoughton, Mass., native made three saves in the Royals' 3-0 win over Penn State Berks on Wednesday and then added six saves all in the second half of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Stevens. During the Stevens game, senior Niamh Healy (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan Zee) scored the game-tying goal in the 63^rd minute and Olson registered five of her six saves over the final 25 plus minutes to keep things deadlocked at one.

On the season, Olson is tied for the conference lead in both saves (30) and shutouts (2).

Scranton will host SUNY New Paltz in a non-conference clash on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Weiss Field.
