Moosic, PA -- Sophomore Gehrig Shannon ( Bernardsville, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) captured medalist honors for the first time in his career at Scranton as he led the Royals to a 320-328 win over Marywood on Tuesday afternoon at Glenmaura National Golf Club.

Shannon fired off a four over round of 75 for his third round of the year in the 70s. 

Sophomore Juliano Nieto (Archbald, Pa. / Holy Cross) finished two strokes behind Shannon at 77 (+6) to finished T-2 on the day. Sophomore Luke Merlan (Pembroke, Mass. / Pembroke) carded an 82 (+11) while junior Mason Hemak (Jermyn, Pa. / Scranton Prep) rounded out the lineup for Scranton with an 86 (+15).

The men's golf team returns to action this weekend for the D3 Elite Invitational hosted at Williamsport Country Club. Action is set to get underway on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
