University of Scranton men's golfer Cade Kelleher has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced today.
Kelleher earned the honor after a second-place individual finish at the DeSales Fall Classic, held Friday and Saturday at Olde Homestead Golf Club (6,517 yards, par 72). He opened with a 2-under 70 and followed with a 3-under 69 in the second round, finishing at 139 (-5) and leading the Royals to a second-place team finish.
Scranton posted a team score of 590 (+16), shooting 300 (+14) in the first round before a strong 290 (+2) in the second. Marymount (VA) won the event at 571 (-7).
Kelleher was one of only a few players in the field to break par in both rounds, and he finished ten strokes ahead of the next-best Royal.
This marks Cade's first career Landmark Conference weekly award.
