ANNVILLE, Pa.
- The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team (2-0) built a 9-2 halftime lead and rolled to a 16-6 victory over the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen (0-2) on Wednesday afternoon at Arnold Field in Annville.

After LVC scored to open the game, freshman Eileen Hewitt (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown East) got the Royals on the board after scoring two goals in a three-minute span. The Royals would then go on to score 3 more goals in the quarter with one each from junior Grace Lane (Long Beach, N.Y. / Sacred Heart Academy), senior Kayleigh Stalter (Lynbrook, N.Y. / Lynbrook), and senior Devyn Tanajewski (Ringwood, N.J. / Lakeland Regional).

With a 5-1 lead entering the second quarter, the Royals extended their lead by outscoring Flying Dutchmen 4-1 in the quarter. They entered the half with a 9-2 lead.

The Flying Dutchmen opened the second half with a quick score, but the Royals responded with three straight goals of their own to make it 12-3. LVC quickly answered with three straight goals themselves before two Scranton goals ended the quarter with the Royals leading 14-6.

The Royals closed out the game in the fourth quarter with two more goals, securing the 16-6 victory.

Stalter and Hewitt each posted hat tricks in the win and a total of eight different Royals tallied a goal in the contest. The quartet of Lane, Tanajewski and seniors Erin Reich (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) and Tara Kotten (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) all added two goals apiece.

Junior goalkeeper Lauren Boldis (Merrick, N.Y. / Sanford H. Calhoun) earned the win with 5 saves, while Reich and senior Karina Roettger (Brick, N.J / Brick Memorial) both picked up 3 ground balls each. Fellow Senior Nicolina Mauro (South Hempstead, N.Y. / South Side) led the team with 2 caused turnovers in the win.

Hewitt also posted six draw controls.
