SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team (3-8) cruised to a 9-0 victory over the FDU-Florham Devils (0-5) in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon at the Royal Courts in Scranton.
The No. 1 doubles duo of freshmen Maxwell Dombrowski (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East)/Lucas Kotcho (Jermyn, Pa./Valley View) recorded an 8-4 victory and graduate student Steven Prosperino (Brewster, N.Y./North Salem Central)/freshman Harrison Clark (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) notched a thrilling 8-7 win in the second doubles match. In No. 3 doubles action, sophomore Nathan Harrison (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial)/freshman Isaiah Dore (Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield Academy for the Arts & Advanced Studies) rolled to an 8-0 sweep.
Dombrowski posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Matthew Emery at first singles and Dore added a three-set victory (6-3, 6-7, 6-1) against Ronald Duval at second singles.
Clark and Kotcho both registered straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles for the Royals with wins of 6-3, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-3, respectively.
In No. 5 singles, Prosperino registered a 6-0, 6-1 win and Harrison finished things off with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.
Scranton returns to the courts on Wednesday, Apr. 3 at Drew at 3:30 p.m.
