MOOSIC, Pa. – Sophomore Gehrig Shannon (Bernardsville, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) fired a career-low 72 (+1) and The University of Scranton men's golf team posted a pair of dual match victories over King's and Misericordia on Monday afternoon at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
The Royals topped King's 296-357 and Misericordia by a score of 296-379. For head coach Ed Karpovich's team, the 296 marks the second-lowest team score of the 2023-24 season.
Shannon earned medalist honors with his 72, while junior Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) and sophomore Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) each carded a 74 (+3). Harding posted an impressive 33 (-3) on the back nine.
Rounding things out for the Royals were junior Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) and sophomore Juliano Nieto (Archbald, Pa./Holy Cross) with a 76 (+5).
Scranton will host Marywood, Misericordia and Wilkes in a quad match tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Glenmaura.
