MOOSIC, PA -- The University of Scranton head golf coach
Ed Karpovich notched his 400th career victory as the men's golf team defeated Marywood, Wilkes and Misericordia at Glenmaura National Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Karpovich ranks first in program history with a total of 402 wins in his illustrious coaching career.
The Royals won the quad-match with a team score of 304. Marywood finished in second at 324, Wilkes took third at 325 and Misericordia placed fourth at 361. Paul Appolt of Marywood earned medalist honors with a round of 72 (+1).
Sophomore
Gehrig Shannon (Bernardsville, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) led the way for Scranton with a 74 (+3). Junior
Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) fired off a five-over round of 76.
Junior
Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) and sophomore
Juliano Nieto (Archbald, Pa. / Holy Cross) each posted round of 77 (+6) while junior
Mason Hemak (Jermyn, Pa. Scranton Prep) rounded out the lineup for Scranton with an 85 (+14).
The men's golf team returns to action on Thursday at 1:00 PM for the Biondi Memorial Invitational hosted at Glenmaura National.
