Emily Hopkins Named Landmark Conference Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton's Emily Hopkins has been named the 2025 Landmark Conference Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete, recognizing her exceptional achievements both on the course and in the classroom.

Hopkins becomes just the third Royal in program history to earn this honor, joining previous recipients Stephanie Huth (2009) and Jessica Hoffmann (2021). The award is presented annually to one senior from each sport who exemplifies academic excellence, athletic accomplishment, and meaningful engagement in leadership and service.

A Kinesiology major, Hopkins has been a key contributor to Scranton's cross-country program throughout her career. She helped lead the Royals to the 2022 Landmark Conference Championship and is a three-time All-Landmark selection—earning Second Team honors in 2022 before collecting First Team accolades in both 2024 and 2025. Her 2025 season also included USTFCCCA All-Region recognition, further cementing her place among the conference's top competitors.

In the classroom, Hopkins has been equally impressive. She is a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete (2022, 2023, 2024), demonstrating consistent academic excellence throughout her time at Scranton.

Hopkins' impact extends well beyond competition and academics. She serves as the Community Coordinator for the Healthy Kids Running Series in Scranton, overseeing all aspects of local operations—from finances and registration to race setup, timing, announcements, and awards. She also collaborates with coordinators nationwide to support the organization's mission of promoting youth fitness.

Additionally, Hopkins works at Pivot Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Aide, assisting therapists, supporting patient exercise programs, and helping maintain a welcoming and organized clinical environment.

With her leadership, service, and sustained excellence across all areas of student-athlete life, Hopkins is a fitting choice as the Landmark Conference's 2025 Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete.
