SALISBURY, MD -- The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team lost their season opener 17-4 against No. 2 Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- Scranton got the scoring started, as sophomore Myles McCutchen scored an unassisted goal to put Scranton ahead 1-0.
- Salisbury responded with a pair of goals, taking a 2-1 lead into the second quarter.
- After scoring another goal early in the second, the Royals responded as sophomore Patrick D'Amaro found the back of the net, bringing Scranton back within one.
- The Sea Gulls finished the quarter scoring four more times, taking a 7-2 lead into halftime.
- Scranton allowed four goals in the first half of the third quarter, extending their lead to 11-3.
- Freshman Cooper Roberts broke the Sea Gulls streak of nine unanswered goals after taking a feed from junior Jason Kozak and scoring his first career goal with 5:55 to go in the third.
- D'Amaro followed up Roberts' goal with his second of the game a couple of minutes later, reducing the Sea Gulls' lead to 11-4.
- Salisbury outscored the Royals five goals to none in the fourth quarter to close out the game and win 17-4.
