HAVERFORD, PA. - The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team lost a hard-fought game 14-13 against Haverford College on Saturday afternoon in Haverford, PA.
The Basics

How it Happened:
- The Royals struck first in the contest courtesy of graduate student Erin Reich at the 3:55 mark in the first quarter. Haverford answered promptly, however, evening the score at 1-1 with 2:14 to go in the period.
- Reich scored her second unassisted goal of the game 2:32 into the second quarter, but once again, the Fords found the equalizer a few minutes later to even the score at two apiece.
- In a tie game, Haverford scored a pair of goals in a span of 35 seconds to take its first lead of the game at 4-2 with just over seven minutes to play in the half.
- The Scranton offense answered at the 5:15 mark as Reich found the back of the net for the third time to bring the Royals within one.
- With Haverford leading 4-3, the two teams traded goals in a matter of a minute, as Abby Bonner scored for the Fords and then graduate student Devyn Tanajewski responded a minute later for Scranton.
- The Fords, in what was their best offensive quarter of the game, finished by scoring three more times after the Tanajewski goal, extending their lead to 8-4 at the half.
- Scranton got back in the game with a pair of goals early in the third quarter from sophomore Eileen Hewitt and senior Grace Lane to bring the Fords lead down to 8-6.
- Haverford scored its ninth goal of the at the 9:31 mark, but goals from sophomore Jillian Lopez and senior Catherine McGlynn cut the Fords' lead to 9-8.
- The Fords outscored the Royals 3-1 in the final six minutes of the quarter, with Scranton's lone goal coming from junior Jessica McCabe, and Haverford took a 12-9 lead into the fourth quarter.
- Scranton continued to battle in the fourth, bringing the Fords' lead down to one goal off back-to-back goals from Hewitt and Tanajewski. After Haverford scored their 13th goal of the game to go up two goals, McCabe struck again to make it 13-12 with 7:30 to go.
- Haverford's Brooke Epstein scored her third goal of the game right before Lane scored her second with 4:59 left to play as Haverford held a 14-13 lead.
- Despite the Scranton defense being able to hold off Haverford in the final six minutes, the Fords defense returned the favor and did not concede another shot after the Lane goal as Haverford held on to win 14-13.

- Lopez paced the Royals with five draw controls, while adding one goal and one caused turnover.
- Senior goalie Lauren Boldis made a game-high nine saves.
