SCRANTON, PA – Sophomore Jillian Lopez scored the game-winning goal 2:08 into the overtime period to power The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team past the Rowan University Profs, 12-11, on Wednesday afternoon at Weiss Field in Scranton, Pa.

How it Happened
- Rowan jumped out to an early lead in the first minute of the game, going up 1-0 at the 14:08 mark of the first quarter.
- The Royals answered at the 11:25 mark when graduate student Erin Reich drove up the middle and buried the shot into the top right corner of the goal to even the score at 1-1.
- Elaina Corson found the back of the net to put Rowan back in front at the 10:51 mark, but sophomore Eileen Hewitt tied the game again after juking out her defender and burying the shot to make it 2-2.
- Rowan answered 34 seconds later to go back in front, and the Profs then scored another goal on a free position attempt 28 seconds later to go in front 4-2.
- Senior Grace Lane got Scranton back within one with her first goal of the day at the 8:51 mark, but once again, Rowan responded with its fifth goal of the game 2:10 later as they took a 5-3 advantage into the second quarter.
- Lane scored her second goal of the afternoon 3:06 into the second quarter to bring Scranton within one goal again, but Rowan went back up by two with a goal at the 9:30 mark.
- Senior Catherine McGlynn took a pass from Hewitt right in front of the crease and scored to cut the Rowan lead to 6-5. The Royals later tied the game at 6-6 at the 4:35 mark when Hewitt scored on a free position attempt.
- Rowan went back in front with 1:17 left in the second half, taking a 7-6 lead into the break.
- The Profs added on to their lead at the 10:25 mark in the third quarter, but Lopez and Reich scored a pair of goals just 1:10 apart to tie the game for the fourth time.
- Rowan grabbed a 9-8 lead with 1:56 to go in the third quarter, but Scranton tied it again at nine when Lane capitalized on a free position shot and scored her third goal of the game with 1:15 left in the period. Rowan then went back in front with a goal with just five seconds left in the quarter, taking a 10-9 advantage into the fourth.
- Both goalies made three saves in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter, but Scranton finally broke through when Reich drove to goal and bounced it in to tie the game at 10-10.
- With 7:25 left in the fourth, Rowan scored its 11th goal of the game to get back in the lead, 11-10.
- Reich tied the game at the 2:39 mark in the fourth quarter with her fourth goal of the day, and junior goalie Eva Guerino made a key save with 2:12 to go to keep the game tied and send it into overtime.
- After Rowan won the draw at the beginning of the overtime period, Guerino made a clutch save as the Royals' defense made the stop. Scranton then cleared successfully and gave the ball to Lopez, who blew by a defender and scored the game-winner for the Royals as they won 12-11.
