Freshman Sammy Tornabene was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and senior Will McLoughlin earned All-Landmark Conference First Team honors as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Sammy Tornabene – Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year
- Tornabene played in 23 games and made 10 starts, averaging 8.7 points per game with 59 rebounds and 35 assists. The freshman finished the season ranked second on the team behind McLoughlin with 12 blocks.
- The Jersey City, N.J., native scored double-digit points in 10 games this season, including a career-high 23 points in a loss against Elizabethtown in the regular season finale on Feb. 22.
- Tornabene is the first member of the University of Scranton men's basketball program to win the Rookie of the Year award since McLoughlin did it in 2021-22.
Will McLoughlin – First Team All-Conference
- McLoughlin started in 23 games this year for the Royals and averaged 15.8 points per game during his senior year.
- The Glen Rock, N.J. native tallied a team-high 155 rebounds and 26 blocks with 23 steals and 59 assists.
- McLoughlin, a former Landmark Rookie of the Year and now two-time All-Conference First Team selection, scored double-digit points in 20 games and scored at least 20 points six times this season.
