BETHLEHEM, PA. - The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team won its regular season finale as the Royals defeated Moravian University 13-6 on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics:

How it Happened:
- Moravian got off to a fast start as the Greyhounds scored a pair of goals under a minute apart to take a 2-0 lead with 11:46 to go in the first quarter.
- Scranton responded with a pair of goals of their own – first it was junior Quinn Carson who found the back of the net, and then classmate Kyle Holmes scored his first of the day just 12 seconds later to tie the game at 2-2.
- The Royals took their first lead of the game at the 9:46 mark of the second quarter when junior Jason Kozak found Carson who scored his second of the game to put Scranton ahead 3-2.
- Just 49 seconds later, Holmes scored again to make it 4-2 Scranton.
- After sophomore Thomas Popolizio scored at the 7:31 mark in the second, Moravian responded 1:15 later to cut the Scranton lead to 5-3.
- Holmes scored his third goal of the half with 5:22 to go in the second period, but Moravian answered with a goal of its own at the 2:45 mark, sending the game into halftime with Scranton ahead 6-4.
- Carson opened the scoring in the third quarter with his third goal of the contest just under four minutes into period.
- Sophomore Myles McCutcheon added to the Scranton lead with a pair of goals separated by 55 seconds to extend the lead to five.
- Scranton finished the quarter with three more goals, one apiece from sophomore Brendan Donohue, Kozak and sophomore Tommy Tremarco as the Royals took a commanding 12-4 lead into the fourth quarter.
- Junior Pat McCormack scored in the first minute of the fourth quarter to make it 13-4 Scranton.
- Moravian scored two goals in the quarter, but it was too little too late as Scranton held on to win by seven.
Top Performers:
- Holmes led the team with three goals while also picking up three ground balls.
- McCutcheon tallied two goals, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
- Sophomore goalie Carsen Kirchner made nine saves in goal.
