SCRANTON, PA — The University of Scranton women's soccer team rallied from a first half stalemate to earn a 2-1 victory over visiting Farmingdale State College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field.

How It Happened

After a scoreless opening half, the Royals opened the scoring in the 50th minute. Elise Nicholas rose to meet the ball and directed a header over the goalkeeper, where Jenna Borelli ran on and calmly slotted it home to give Scranton a 1-0 lead.

The Rams pulled level just over three minutes later, as Abigail Chest converted off an assist from Alyse Rivera in the 53rd minute.

Scranton wasted no time responding. Just 30 seconds later, Borelli netted her second of the day — and fourth of the season — after receiving a perfectly placed ball over the Rams' back line from Aileen Carr, finishing confidently to restore the lead.
