The University of Scranton women's soccer team has climbed to No. 5 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Region V rankings, continuing its strong early-season form and remaining the only Landmark Conference program represented in the poll.
The Royals went 2-0-0 this past week to improve to 5-1-1 overall, notching a pair of shutout victories. Scranton edged Ithaca College, 1-0, on Wednesday and followed that with a 2-0 win over Farmingdale State on Saturday, extending their unbeaten streak to four matches.
Anchored by a disciplined defensive unit and timely goal scoring, the Royals have established themselves as a consistent force in the region.
Next up, Scranton travels to face No. 7Â Misericordia University on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM in a key non-conference showdown.
