SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton field hockey team dominated the defending Landmark Champion Susquehanna River Hawks, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field.

How it Happened Â
- Scranton jumped out to an early lead 3:51 into the game when sophomore Shana Goldsmith jumped in front of a pass from a River Hawk defender, took it into the circle and snuck a shot through the legs of the goalie to put the Royals ahead 1-0.
- Susquehanna evened the score 7:12 later as Isa Napoli found the back of the cage to tie the game at 1-1.
- The Royals went back in front at the 11:05 mark of the second quarter. Sophomore Olivia Dougherty carried the ball into the circle and threaded the needle on a pass to senior Annie Shaw, who buried the shot to give Scranton a 2-1 advantage.
- With 2:44 to go in the half, junior Maggie Keys fired a crosser past Susquehanna's defense and right to the stick of classmate Maddie Slavin who found the back of the cage to extend the lead to 3-1.
- The Royals extended the lead to 4-1 as sophomore Lydia Bechtel took a pass from Keys and fired a shot into the cage on a penalty corner attempt just 3:16 into the fourth period.
- Scranton added its fifth goal of the game on another penalty corner as Keys ripped a ball toward freshman Gracie Buchholz, who scored her first career goal to make it a 5-1 lead for the Royals.

- Keys recorded a career-high three assists and leads the conference with 10 helpers on the year.
