SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton field hockey team got back in the win column with a 3-1 victory over the Marywood Pacers Tuesday evening at Weiss Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- Scranton opened the scoring in the first quarter, converting on its second penalty corner of the game. Sophomore Lydia Bechtel took the insertion and flipped to junior Maggie Keys, who returned the pass to Bechtel and then the sophomore scored to give the Royals a 1-0 lead.
- Despite taking 10 shots and five corner attempts in the rest of the first half, Marywood's goalie Sabrina Frazier kept Scranton off the board, sending the game to halftime with the Royals ahead 1-0.
- Marywood tied the game six minutes into the third quarter, evening the score at 1-1.
- The Royals tallied six corner attempts over the 14 minutes, but Frazier continued to stand tall to keep the game tied.
- Just 4:27 into the fourth quarter, however, Scranton earned its first penalty stroke attempt of the season, and senior Annie Coll fired a perfect shot into the back left corner of the cage to put Scranton ahead 2-1 on her first career goal.
- With 7:42 to go in the game, Scranton got some insurance as senior Emily Gallagher connected with classmate Annie Shaw who then scored to make it 3-1 Royals on the team's 15th penalty corner of the game.
