ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's swimming team secured a decisive 192–69 victory over Elizabethtown College on Sunday, using dominant performances in the distance, IM, and relay events to pull away early and maintain control throughout the meet.
Scranton set the tone in the distance races, led by Christopher Clarke, who won the 1000 freestyle in 10:36.45, while George Gill and Stephen Miller added additional scoring finishes. The Royals followed with a sweep of the top three spots in the 200 freestyle, paced by Will Tagliareni, Steven Detwiler, and Alex Iannone.
The backstroke group delivered more points, as Jake Brunetti won the 100 backstroke in 55.48, followed by Owen Sherry and Adrian Agnello. Scranton continued its momentum in the breaststroke events, where Samuel Peters won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.84) and later added a victory in the 200 breaststroke.
In butterfly action, Matt Bellach captured first place in the 200 fly, while Matt Sherry led a sweep of the 100 butterfly, finishing first with Owen Sherry and Max Faybyshenko also scoring.
The Royals closed the meet with relay strength, winning the 200 freestyle relay behind Owen Sherry, Zach Leonard, Alexander Crumpton, and Will Tagliareni to secure the team victory.
