ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Scranton men's track and field team turned in a solid performance against strong regional competition Saturday at the Ithaca College Six Way Invitational, posting multiple top-six finishes across sprints, middle distance, and distance events.
Freddie Kumi-Atiemo Jr. led the Royals in the sprints, finishing sixth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.17 seconds. In the middle distances, Brayden Clarke posted a pair of strong performances, placing fourth in the mile (4:33.16) and fifth in the 800 meters (2:04.89).
Distance runner Angel Perez earned two top-six finishes for Scranton, placing fifth in the 3,000 meters (9:15.73) and sixth in the mile (4:34.36). Daniel Lanahan (2:05.34) and Ethan Caprarola (2:05.54) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 800 meters.
In the 3,000 meters, Dylan Walsh placed sixth with a time of 9:32.14, while Michael Allardyce followed closely behind in seventh at 9:36.66.
Up next: The Royals will return to Ithaca College next weekend for the Bomber Invitational.
