SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team dropped its season opener against No. 2 Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon, 20-3, at Weiss Field.

How it Happened
- Salisbury opened the game with three goals in the first five minutes to take the early lead at 3-0.
- With 8:55 remaining in the first quarter, the Seagulls netted their fourth goal and added two more just 12 seconds apart midway through the period to extend the lead to 6-0.
- Salisbury scored again with 1:49 left in the opening quarter, carrying a 7-0 advantage into the second period.
- Just 1:35 into the second, Salisbury struck to make it 8-0 and added another at the 9:42 mark. Forty-one seconds later, the Seagulls found the back of the net again to push the lead to 10-0.
- The Seagulls closed the half with three more goals in the final five minutes to take a 13-0 lead into the break.
- Scranton got on the board 1:07 into the second half as freshman Chase Ritcey scored his first career goal to make it 13-1, but Salisbury answered with three more goals to take a 16-1 advantage into the fourth quarter.
- Salisbury added three more goals in the final period — at the 11:32 mark, 32 seconds later, and again with 8:08 remaining — to stretch the lead to 19-1.
- With 5:59 left in the game, Ritcey set up Myles McCutcheon for the Royals' second goal, although Salisbury responded at the 4:33 mark.
- With just 39 seconds remaining in the game, Tommy Tremarco finished a feed from Eamonn Twomey to make the final score 20-3.
