ITHACA, N.Y. — The University of Scranton men's track & field team turned in a standout performance Saturday at the Marc Deneault Invitational, hosted by Cornell University, breaking two school records and posting one first place finish on the day.
Cullen Clarke, Daniel Lanahan, Brayden Clarke and Angel Perez highlighted the meet with a first-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay, clocking 11:08.55.
In individual events, Luke Karcutskie set a new program record in the 500 meters, finishing fourth with a time of 1:10.38. Matt Hirsch broke the school record in the 300 meters with a sixth-place finish in 36.87 seconds, while Brian Hard followed closely in seventh at 37.16 seconds.
Ryan Shockley posted a podium finish in the 5,000 meters, taking third with a time of 17:27.41. Luciano Fiorenza placed sixth in the 400 meters with a run of 51.31 seconds. In the 1,000 meters, Brayden Clarke and Angel Perez finished fifth and sixth, respectively, while Michael Allardyce notched eighth in the 3,000 meters at 9:25.50.
Scranton's two school records and multiple top-10 performances underscored a strong showing for the men's team as they continue their indoor season.
