TOWSON, Md. – Senior diver Nicole Stofko of The University of Scranton has been named the Women's Swimming & Diving Senior Scholar-Athlete by the Landmark Conference for the 2025–26 academic year, recognizing her outstanding achievements both in the classroom and in competition.
Each year, the Landmark Conference selects senior scholar-athletes from its sponsored sports to honor student-athletes who excel academically and athletically. Nominees must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee that includes conference administrators, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications staff, and diversity, equity, and inclusion designees.
A nursing major with a 3.88 GPA, Stofko has built one of the most decorated diving careers in Scranton program history. She becomes the fourth Royal to earn Senior Scholar-Athlete honors and the first since 2020–21, when Lauren Byrne received the distinction.
Stofko is also the fifth Scranton student-athlete to earn Senior Scholar-Athlete recognition during the 2025–26 academic year, joining Emily Hopkins (cross country), Annie Shaw (field hockey), Logan Campbell (men's soccer), and Liv Enderle (women's soccer).
In the pool, Stofko has been a key contributor to the Royals' success, helping lead Scranton to three Landmark Conference team championships from 2024 through 2026. Individually, she captured four conference titles, sweeping both the one-meter and three-meter diving events in 2024 and again in 2025.
Her consistent excellence earned her six All-Conference selections across the one-meter and three-meter events from 2024 through 2026. Stofko was also named Landmark Conference Diver of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
Stofko has also excelled academically, earning two selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team in 2024 and 2025 while balancing the rigorous demands of Scranton's nursing program.
Away from competition and the classroom, Stofko remains active in community service. She volunteers with the St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, participates in events supporting Special Olympics, and contributes her time within the University of Scranton's Nursing Department.
