GETTYSBURG, PA – The No. 17 University of Scranton women's lacrosse team made a late push but ultimately fell to No. 7 Gettysburg College, 14-10, at Clark Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Gettysburg struck first, netting the game's opening two goals, the first at 13:53 and another just two minutes later, to build a 2-0 lead.

The Royals came right back just 34 seconds later, as Alexandra Back drove to the cage and scored to cut the deficit to one. Less than a minute after that, fellow freshman Lylah Wilhelm capitalized on a free-position attempt to knot the score at 3-3.

Lopez opened the fourth quarter with her third goal of the game to cut the Bullets' lead to 14-6 with 11:57 remining. Then, with 5:40 left in the fourth, Lopez found Wilhem in transition who buried the shot to make it 14-7.
