White Wins Pentathlon, Royals Set DMR Record at AARTFC Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The University of Scranton women's track and field team delivered a strong performance at the AARTFC Regional Championships on Friday at the The Armory Track & Field Center, highlighted by a pentathlon title from Molly White and a program-record victory in the distance medley relay.

White Captures Pentathlon Title

  • White delivered a standout all-around effort to claim the pentathlon title with a program-record score of 3,530 points.
  • She opened the competition by setting a personal and program record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 9.05 seconds. White continued her strong showing in the field events, winning the high jump with a clearance of 1.58 meters while also placing third in the long jump with a mark of 5.28 meters.
  • White capped the event by winning the 800 meters in 2:19.74, securing the overall pentathlon victory.
  • With the performance, White currently ranks eighth in the nation in the pentathlon and will have a strong chance of qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. Selections will be announced on Sunday, March 8th at NCAA.com. 

DMR Sets Program Record

  • The Royals' distance medley relay team of Emily Hopkins, Olivia Miller, Tasia Miniotis, and Kyrianna Nemitz put together a historic performance, winning the event with a program-record time of 11:58.41.
  • The mark currently ranks 16th in the nation, positioning Scranton well as selections approach for the national championships.

Sharrow Posts Strong Performance

  • Sam Sharrow also turned in a solid showing, finishing sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.55 meters. She also competed in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, placing 10th overall with a time of 7.79 seconds.
