The University of Scranton men's track and field team posted a number of strong individual performances and personal-best efforts at the York Twilight Meet on Wednesday.
Scranton saw a strong showing from its sprint group, led by freshman Cael Krushnowski. Krushnowski recorded a pair of personal-best performances, placing eighth in the 110m hurdles (17.16) and 24th in the 200m (23.33). He also added a personal-best time of 11.47 in the 100m.
Fellow freshmen Alex Wojcik and Vincent Nola also impressed. Wojcik posted personal-best times in both the 100m (11.47) and 200m (23.83), while Nola clocked a personal-best 23.37 in the 200m and added a strong showing in the 400m (52.42, PB).
In the 400m, Owen Pollock led the Royals with a 15th-place finish and a personal-best time of 51.37. Anthony Arnone (52.38, PB) and Nola followed closely behind, while Ronan Feenan also turned in a personal-best effort (55.26).
In the hurdles, Luke Karcutskie posted a personal-best time of 58.91 in the 400m hurdles, while Cade Santos notched a personal-best 1:02.28 in the same event after also competing in the 110m hurdles (17.26).
On the distance side, Daniel Lanahan highlighted the meet with a sixth-place finish in the 1500m (4:07.44), while Robert Casey recorded a personal-best time of 4:18.30. Jackson Morris added a personal-best effort in the 5000m (16:07.08), and Cullen Clarke paced the Royals in the 800m (2:03.86).
In the field events, Christopher Threston led Scranton in the javelin with a season-best throw of 44.13m, while Kyle Jarrett recorded a season-best mark of 5.42m in the long jump. Ryan Kennedy paced the Royals in the shot put with a season-best toss of 11.17m.
Scranton returns to action next weekend with competition split across multiple meets. The Royals will compete at the Susquehanna Multi on April 9-10 in Selinsgrove, Pa., the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University on April 11-12 in Lewisburg, Pa., and the DeSales Invitational on April 11 in Center Valley, Pa.
