The University of Scranton men's track and field team put together a strong overall performance at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by multiple event wins and a series of top-three finishes across the track and field events.
In the distance events, Ryan Shockley captured first place in the 5,000 meters, pacing a standout effort for the Royals' distance group. Ethan Caprarola added another victory on the track, winning the 800 meters in 1:59.86.
Scranton continued to shine in the mid-distance and sprint events, with Daniel Lanahan earning second place in the 1,500 meters in 4:12.95. Brian Hard placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 51.10, while Vincent Nola finished runner-up in the 200 meters in 22.73. Cael Krushnowski also contributed a top finish in the sprints, placing third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.57.
In the hurdles, Joe Castellano earned second place in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.83, and Luke Karcutskie added another runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 58.28.
In the field events, Brendan Perez finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.16 meters, while Christopher Threston placed third in the javelin with a throw of 45.46 meters.
