The University of Scranton women's tennis team picked up a 4-3 Landmark Conference win over Goucher College Saturday afternoon in Towson, Md.
With the win, Scranton improved to 11-2 on the year and 7-0 in conference play.
Doubles
- Goucher grabbed the early advantage by winning two of three doubles matches.
- Natalia Navarro and Lucy Ingraham defeated Sarah Crawford and Gisele Falzone, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles.
- Meline Siggen and Alexa Benedict followed with a 6-1 win over Hannah Rowan and Nicole Krakovich at No. 2.
- The Royals got on the board in doubles play with a dominant 6-0 victory at No. 3 from Nora Pencek and Kyleigh McNulty over Kendra Lanese and Lydia Hurst.
Singles
- Scranton stormed back in singles action, winning four of six matches to secure the team victory.
- Crawford responded with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 over Natalia Navarro.
- Gisele Falzone was edged at No. 2, falling 7-5, 6-3 to Meline Siggen.
- Erin O'Mara dropped her match at No. 3, 6-4, 6-0, to Lucy Ingraham.
- Hannah Rowan earned a key three-set win at No. 4, battling past Alexa Benedict 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
- Pencek cruised at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Nini Kandelaki.
- McNulty sealed the match for Scranton with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 over Kendra Lanese.
