The University of Scranton men's golf team delivered a strong performance on Monday afternoon, earning a 295-329 victory over Wilkes University at Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit, Pa.
Scranton showcased its depth with all six golfers posting solid rounds, led by another standout effort from Richard Essen. Essen fired a 1-under-par 71 to pace the Royals, marking his second round under par during the spring season.
Marshall Kain followed with a 74, while Cade Kelleher and Gehrig Shannon each carded rounds of 75. Jack Leonard added a 76, and Juliano Nieto rounded out the lineup with a 77 as Scranton secured a decisive 34-stroke victory.
The Royals will look to carry this momentum into their next competition on Thursday, April 9, when they compete at the Bloomsburg Invitational, hosted at Frosty Valley Country Club. The opening tee time is set for 12:00 p.m.
