Senior John Heitzman has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week after helping lead The University of Scranton baseball team to a Landmark Conference Championship victory this past weekend.

Heitzman totaled five hits, six runs scored, four RBIs, one double, and one home run across three tournament games for the Royals.

He opened tournament play with a two-hit, two-RBI performance against Elizabethtown on May 5, scoring twice in the Royals' victory. Heitzman followed with another strong outing against Susquehanna on May 9, going 2-for-5 with three runs scored, a double, and an RBI.

In the Landmark Conference championship game against Elizabethtown on May 10, Heitzman delivered another big moment for the Royals, blasting a home run while finishing with a run scored and an RBI to help secure the program's third Landmark Conference championship.

For the tournament, Heitzman consistently sparked Scranton offensively and played a key role in the Royals' championship run.
