The University of Scranton athletics department wrapped up a historic 2025-26 year by capturing the Landmark Conference Presidents' Trophy, the conference announced on Thursday afternoon. The honor is Scranton's third Presidents' Trophy overall and its first since the 2022-23 academic year.
It was a standout year across the board for the Royals, who set a new Landmark Conference record by winning nine conference championships in a single season. No other program in league history has reached that mark.
Scranton's championship run included titles in field hockey, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, women's indoor track and field, women's basketball, women's outdoor track and field, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and baseball.
The success was consistent from start to finish. The Royals opened the year with strong fall performances in field hockey and women's soccer, carried that momentum into a dominant winter that featured championships in women's swimming and diving, women's indoor track and field and women's basketball, and finished strong in the spring with titles in women's outdoor track and field, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and baseball.
The Presidents' Trophy is awarded annually to the top overall athletics program in the Landmark Conference and is determined through a points system based on regular-season finishes and bonus points from conference championship results.
Scranton was in control of the standings throughout the year, leading after both the fall and winter seasons before closing out the spring on top to finish with an average of 10.64 points.
On top of the championship success, multiple programs added key points in postseason play to help secure the trophy, including strong finishes across lacrosse, baseball and women's tennis.
The award caps off one of the most successful seasons in program history and highlights the depth and consistency across Scranton athletics from top to bottom.
