The University of Scranton men's soccer program has announced the hiring of Cody Elliott as its next assistant coach, head coach Andy Loughnane announced Thursday.
Elliott joins the Royals after spending the 2025 season as an assistant coach at the University of Southern Maine. In his lone season on the Southern Maine sideline, the Huskies finished third in the Little East Conference standings and earned a home playoff game for the first time since the 2008 season.
Prior to his time at Southern Maine, Elliott held coaching positions with Maine ODP, Maine Lightning SC and multiple varsity programs throughout the Southern Maine area.
Elliott also brings collegiate playing experience to the Royals' coaching staff. He played at Saint Joseph's College of Maine from 2016 through 2020, finishing his career as the program's all-time leader in assists. He was also an all-conference selection in 2018 and 2019.
A 2020 graduate of Saint Joseph's College, Elliott earned his bachelor's degree in physical education before earning a Master of Arts degree in sports administration from Northwestern University in 2022. He currently holds a USSF D Coaching License.
Elliott joins a Scranton program that enters the 2026 season ranked No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches Division III preseason poll. The Royals are coming off a 13-1-6 campaign in 2025, which included an NCAA Tournament victory.
