Four From Scranton Field Hockey Named to NFHCA 2026 Watchlist

Four members of The University of Scranton field hockey team were named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist that was announced by the organization on Thursday.

The 2026 NFHCA Watchlist recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season. The Watchlist is intended to highlight returning and emerging standouts entering the 2026 season.

Maggie Keys - Senior Midfielder
  • Keys earned NFHCA All-Region Second Team and All-Landmark Conference First Team honors last year after contributing 38 points on 10 goals and 18 assists.
  • She ranked second in Division III with 18 assists while leading the Landmark in assists, ranking third in points and 10th in goals.
  • Keys recorded at least one point in 15 games, including three multi-goal games and four multi-assist games.

Shana Goldsmith - Junior Forward

  • Goldsmith earned All-Landmark Conference First Team honors last year after contributing 29 points on 12 goals and five assists.
  • She ranked sixth in the Landmark in goals, eighth in points, fifth with four game-winning goals and 10th in assists.

Lydia Bechtel - Junior Midfielder

  • Bechtel earned Second Team All-Conference recognition last year after contributing 16 points on five goals and six assists.
  • She provided a strong two-way presence in the midfield and played an important role in driving transition play throughout the season.

Gabi Horn - Senior Defender

  • Horn earned Second Team All-Conference honors last year after starting all 20 games and contributing one goal as a key part of Scranton's defensive unit.
  • Her awareness, consistency and leadership were instrumental in anchoring a Royals defense that ranked among the Landmark Conference's best

The Royals will open the 2026 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1, against Muhlenberg College, with action set to begin at 4:00 p.m. at Weiss Field in Scranton.
