Royal Reflection: Meredith Sulman, Women's Swimming

Interview Conducted by Athletic Communications Intern Mallory Woodland

Royal Reflection highlights the senior student-athletes who represent what it means to be a Royal. In this edition, we feature Meredith Sulman of The University of Scranton women's swim and dive team as she reflects on the moments that defined her time as a Royal.

Describe your Scranton experience in three words

  • Home, family, growth

What does being a Royal athlete mean to you?

  • It means taking pride in our culture and community and representing it in everything we do.

Do you have a go-to pre game or pre-competition ritual?

  • Pre home meet ritual is getting a Dunkin coldbrew and blueberry muffin with Katie and Aviah.

What's the biggest lesson you've learned as a Royal athlete?

  • Cura personalis: taking care of yourself, showing up for your teammates, and recognizing the person behind the athlete- performance in the pool is just an aspect of that.

Favorite memory?

What's something you've learned from a teammate that has stuck with you?

  • Be where your feet are!

What are you most proud of from your time at Scranton?

  • I am most proud of the people I get to share this sport with; it is proof how meaningful the sport can be when you get to share it with people you love.

What's one message you'd like to leave for your teammates?

  • Be proud of the work you put in and the person you become along the way.

Any advice for incoming student-athletes?

  • Take it day by day; it goes by fast!
