Senior Lucas Kotcho of The University of Scranton men's tennis team has been selected as the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Kotcho earned a 6-2, 6-3 win in his No. 1 singles match and a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.  

Kotcho led the Royals' assertive 5-2 win over Lycoming College in their Landmark Conference opener on Saturday at the Royal Courts. He teamed with Ethan Borick to post a 6-2 win at No.1 doubles, then turned in a stellar performance in singles by beating his opponent 6-2, 6-3 at the No.1 spot.   

His performances helped set the tone for a strong team effort in which Scranton won five out of seven matches. 

This marks the first Landmark Athlete of the Week honor of Kotcho's collegiate career. 

Up next, Scranton will return to the Royal Courts on Saturday, Oct. 3 vs Messiah University.
