The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team and head coach Michael Hofmeister have announced the addition of Julian Taylor to the Royals' coaching staff ahead of the 2027 season.

Taylor joins Scranton with extensive coaching and playing experience at the high school, collegiate and box lacrosse levels. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach at Hillsboro High School in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was the offensive coordinator and helped the program reach the TSSAA Region 3, Class A state tournament Final Four in 2026.

Prior to Hillsboro, Taylor spent four seasons as an assistant coach at HB Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, serving as defensive coordinator and helping the program reach the FHSAA state championship game in each of his four seasons.

Taylor also brings collegiate playing experience from Saint Leo University, Durham University and Roanoke College. At Saint Leo, he was a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference selection, a 2019 USILA Academic All-American and a team captain during the 2018-19 season.

In addition to his coaching and playing background, Taylor currently works as a senior technical recruiter with NextPath Workforce Solutions.

Taylor earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Business from Saint Leo University in 2019, graduating summa cum laude, and a master's degree in Management from Durham University in 2020.
