Rachel Perla

Rachel Perla was named an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program in August of 2017.  Perla joined the Scranton women's lacrosse coaching staff fresh off a playing career at St. Bonaventure University.

In her first season at Scranton in 2018, Perla helped lead the Royals to a 12-win campaign as the team finished with a program-best 6-1 mark in Landmark Conference play while advancing to the Landmark Conference championship game. Then, in 2019, Perla assisted Scranton to their best season in program history, as the Royals won a program-record 16 games and finished the season ranked nationally for the first time in program history.

Perla also works for Nike Lacrosse Camps in Lawrenceville, N.J., starting her tenure there in Aug. 2017. In 2019, she was named a Camp Director after serving as a Co-Director in 2018. As the Camp Director for Nike Lacrosse, Perla is responsible for 70 campers from ages six through 18, while also creating camp agendas for all skill levels. 

In her three year career on the field at St. Bonaventure, Perla scored 53 goals and added 19 assists (a 72 point total) as an attacker/midfielder. Overall, she started 46 of the 50 games she played in as a member of the Bonnies, and served as team captain as a senior.

Off the field, Perla was named to St. Bonaventure's Dean's List from 2015 through 2017, and also served as an intern for the women's lacrosse program in the Fall of 2015.

A native of Liverpool, New York, Perla has served as a Youth Lacrosse League head coach in her hometown since May of 2016, and as a Recreation Coordinator for the Onondaga County Parks System. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Studies from St. Bonaventure in May 2017.
