Senior Stephanie Boccuzzi (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) picked up two wins at the top of the lineup to spark The University of Scranton women's tennis team to a victory over the weekend. As a result, Boccuzzi has been honored by the Landmark Conference.
Boccuzzi was named Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday, two days after she earned wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the Royals' 9-0 victory at Drew on Saturday, March 29.
Looking for a fourth straight win and second straight in conference play, Scranton sent Boccuzzi out for No. 1 singles and she came back with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. She also teamed with fellow senior Devon Cohen (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) for a convincing 8-2 victory at the top singles spot.
Boccuzzi and the Royals are back in action Monday when they face Elizabethtown at 3:30 p.m. in Elizabethtown, Pa.
