HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The University of Scranton women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne during its spring break trip at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort on Tuesday morning.
The Royals (4-2) dropped all six singles matches to the Bears (5-3) before the no. 3 doubles team of senior Lisa-Maria Lanciotti (Northport, N.Y./Kings Park) and sophomore Emily Machado (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) built a 6-3 lead before their opponents retired.
Scranton wraps up its spring break trip when it faces George Fox on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort.
