WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's tennis team took a break from Landmark Conference play on Saturday, but wound up dropping a 7-2 decision against King's on Saturday at Kirby Park.
Scranton (4-8) received singles wins from sophomore Michael Pottieger (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) and freshman Emmett Ryan (Manchester, Mass./Canterbury School). Pottieger earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at no. 4 singles, his fifth singles win of the season. Ryan was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at no. 6 singles for his second career win.
The Royals host Goucher on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a key Landmark Conference match. Prior to the start of the match, the Royals will honor seniors Ryan Bair (Leola, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) and Kevin Prendergast (Flanders, N.J./Mt. Olive) as part of Senior Day at Royal Courts.
