GENEVA, N.Y. -- Senior Emily Walsh (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) won a trio of singles matches to reach the consolation final on Sunday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional Championship at Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
Walsh will play in the consolation final on Monday morning after her big day on Sunday. She started her day with an 8-3 win over Allison Friends of Nazareth College, her second consolation bracket win after going 1-1 on Saturday.
Walsh followed that with a quarterfinal win over Emily Wyman of St. Lawrence, 8-3. And she pulled out an 8-6 win over Maria Salmon of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the consolation semifinal to end the day.
Monday's consolation final pits Walsh against Morgan Fitzgerald of Vassar College.
