Women's Tennis Falls to George Fox, Hope in Continuing Spring Break Trip

Results (George Fox) | Results (Hope)

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Scranton women's tennis team has faced some stern competition in their Spring Break trip in Florida the last few days, as the Royals have dropped decisions to both George Fox (9-0) on Saturday and 27th ranked Hope (9-0) on Tuesday.

With the results, Scranton is now 5-4 on the year.

In the George Fox match, Scranton put up a fight at both number one and number two doubles, as the team's of senior Emily Walsh (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) and junior Julia Frattaroli (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) dropped a narrow 8-6 decision at number one, while junior Emily Machado (Fishkill, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) and freshman Emilia Jakubek (Honesdale, Pa./Scranton Prep) fell 8-5 at number two.

It was a challenging day for Scranton, however, against Hope, as the closest the Royals came to collecting a point was at number one single where Walsh and Frattaroli fell, 8-3.

The Royals will conclude their Spring Break trip in Orlando tomorrow, as they take on Hamilton beginning at 9 a.m.
