WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The University of Scranton women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at Wilkes on Sunday afternoon in the second match of their 2016-17 Fall slate.

With the defeat, the Royals fell to 1-1 on the season.

In the loss, Wilkes got off to a fast start in doubles, winning two of the three matches contested by scores of 8-6, and the other by 8-3. It was more of the same in singles, as the Colonels swept all six singles contests to take the match in a shutout.

The University of Scranton women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, hosting Oneonta State at Royal Courts. Action gets underway at 4 p.m.
