SCRANTON, Pa. - The University of Scranton men's tennis team won all nine matches contested at doubles and singles on Friday afternoon at Marywood, coasting to a 9-0 victory over the host Pacers.

With the win, the Royals moved to 2-0 on their Fall season.

The dominant day for Scranton started in doubles, where Marywood won only one point in three matches.

At number one, the tandem of junior Keller McGurrin (Clarks Summit, Pa./Scranton Prep) and sophomore Alexander Ochalski (Hopewell, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) was a 9-0 winner, while at number three, senior David Commender (Larchmont, N.Y./Iona Prep) and sophomore Austin Manmiller (Shoemaker, Pa./Hamburg Area) were also 9-0 winners.

Marywood picked up their only point at number two doubles, where sophomore Christian Aksu (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) and junior Emmett Ryan (Manchester, Mass./Canterbury School) rolled to an 8-1 win to give Scranton a 3-0 lead entering singles play.

In singles, it was more of the same for Scranton, as the only points won by Marywood came at number one singles, where Ochalski still coasted to a 6-2, 6-2 win.

At spots two through six, each Royal in the lineup dominated on their way to 6-0, 6-0 victories in each position.

At number two, McGurrin won in straight sets, while at number three, sophomore Charles Swope (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) was a shutout victor.

In the number four spot on the lineup, sophomore Brian Harkins (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) was a straight set winner, while at number five, freshman Brandon Ostrowski (Dalton, Pa./Abington Heights) captured a dominant win. The convincing sweep of singles was completed at number six by Aksu.

The University of Scranton men's tennis team returns to action on Sunday, October 2nd at Wilkes. Action gets underway at 3 p.m.
